Job Duties

Mined Land Reclamation Specialists are responsible for the regulation of the mining industry under applicable laws, rules, regulations, and State policies, priorities, and procedures.  Employees will review mining and reclamation plans and procedures; investigate complaints; review and make determinations regarding related permit applications; perform and implement related financial analyses; assess final reclamation at closed mines including final grading, successful re-vegetation, water control features, visual screening, water impoundments, and dispositions of wastes; investigate and resolve inadequate reclamation work and suspected cases of mine abandonment; participate in industry and government meetings relating to the minerals industry; and assist in conducting workshops and training seminars for the mining industry, government agencies, consultants, and the public

Trainees will receive a combination of structured training, on-the-job training, and/or practical job performance to gain the knowledge and experience necessary to function at the full performance level.
