Job Duties

As an Environmental Program Specialist 4, you would function as bureau chief; develop and implement bureau work plans, goals and objectives; establish program policies; ensure completion of projects; and provide program recommendations to executive management.

Summary of Minimum Qualifications

You must take and pass a Civil Service examination in order to be considered for this position.

On or before the date of the examination, you must be a qualified employee of the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation or the Adirondack Park Agency and have had three months of permanent competitive, non-competitive NY HELPS*, or 55-b/55-c service as shown below. If you have received a permanent appointment to a qualifying title listed and served provisionally** in that title immediately preceding your permanent appointment, such provisional service may be counted towards meeting the time in title required for this examination.
