Job Duties

As a Real Property Services Administrator 2, under the general direction of the Director Real Property Tax Services, you would manage a major program, and/or two or more regional offices; oversee the agency's delivery of products and services, manage the day-to-day operations of the major program including personnel, budgeting, administrative matters, resource allocation planning, work priorities, and implementation of agency policy and plans; direct the development of systems to monitor and facilitate the day-to-day delivery of programs and services; coordinate and lead team efforts to map valuation processes and identify target areas for process improvement; respond to inquiries from assessors, county directors, and State officials; and participate in agency policy and strategic planning.

Summary of Minimum Qualifications

You must take and pass a civil service examination in order to be considered for this position.

On or before the date of the examination, you must be a qualified employee of the New York State Department of Taxation and Finance or the New York State Division of Tax Appeals and have had 45 days of permanent competitive or 55-b/55-c service as:

Either A. a Real Property Services Administrator 1 or Real Property Analyst 3;

Or B. a Taxpayer Services Specialist 4, Business Systems Analyst 4, or Taxpayer Services Administrator 1.

Only the title or titles listed are qualifying.

If you were permanently appointed to a qualifying title on or before September 7, 2022, and have served continuously in this title since that date, you are eligible to file for this examination.
