Job Duties
As a Correctional Facility Food Administrator 3, you would be responsible for the management of the Department of Corrections and Community Supervision’s Food Production Center. This responsibility includes, but is not limited to, the supervision of all subordinate food service staff and inmates assigned to work in the Food Production Center, and the assurance that the plant is operated in compliance with policies and procedures established by the New York State Department of Corrections and Community Supervision Division of Nutritional Services, New York State Department of Health State Sanitary Code subpart 14-1, and the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA). Additionally, you may perform duties normally assigned to subordinate staff, on an as needed basis.

Summary of Minimum Qualifications

You must take and pass a Civil Service examination in order to be considered for this position.
On or before the date of the examination, the candidate must be a qualified employee of the New York State Department of Corrections and Community Supervision and have had three months of permanent competitive or 55-b/55-c service as either a Correctional Facility Food Administrator 2 or Correctional Facility Food Administrator 1.
