Job Duties

As the Chief, Bureau of State Aid, you would provide direction and leadership to the operations of the Bureau of State Aid. You would monitor fiscal management and information technology systems that provide State financial support of educational programs; coordinate data collection required to support State aid claims, payments and projections; and manage the review and approval of aid claims and the provision of technical assistance to school districts and BOCES.

Summary of Minimum Qualifications

You must take and pass a Civil Service examination in order to be considered for this position.
  

Candidates must have a bachelor''s degree AND seven years professional experience in a management or supervisory position. At least two years of this experience must have been in education finance including preparing or reviewing State aid claims or payments to school districts; collecting, editing, or verifying data submitted for State aid payments; or preparing or analyzing State aid data files or reports.

Substitution:  A master''s degree can be substituted for up to two years of management or supervisory experience.
