Summary of Job Description

The Research Scientist 1 assists higher level Research Scientist positions by participating in all phases of the research process including problem definition, planning, execution, analysis, interpretation and reporting of findings. Projects consist of scientific investigations of limited scope for which there are precedents, and the kind of analysis, examination or test to be used is evident. When standard methods do not appear to apply, the incumbent discusses the evaluation of alternate or modified methods with the supervisor prior to undertaking the work.

Summary of Minimum Qualifications

This title is non-competitive.  No examination is necessary.  However, you must still meet the Minimum Qualifications of the position.

Candidates must have a Bachelorís Degree and two years of professional research experience in the appropriate field, or a Masterís Degree in the appropriate field and one year of professional research experience in that field.
