As a Disability Determinations Program Manager, you would be responsible for the overall direction, administration, and proper operation of an assigned Processing Center ensuring compliance with all State and federal standards. You would have direct responsibility for all phases of the adjudication process of claims, including the assignment of staff and workload. You would develop and administer policies related to Disability Insurance claims. You would also interpret procedures and policies related to claims processing and coordinate the uniform application of these policies and procedures; and serve as a liaison with the federal regional office to discuss potential and existing problems in proposed, new or existing standards and regulations for adjudication of disability claims. In addition, you would analyze existing and proposed legislation impacting center operations and recommend changes.

You must take and pass a Civil Service examination in order to be considered for this position.
On or before the date of the examination, you must be a qualified employee of the New York State Department of Temporary and Disability Assistance and have had three months of permanent competitive or 55-b/55-c service as a Disability Analyst 5.
Only the title or titles listed are qualifying.
If you were permanently appointed to a qualifying title on or before July 22, 2022, and have served continuously in this title since that date, you are eligible to file for this examination.
