A Maintenance Assistant (Plumber and Steamfitter) performs semiskilled activities in the installation, alteration and repair of pipes, fittings and fixtures of heating, ventilating, heating control, and water and drainage systems, generally under the supervision of a Plumber and Steamfitter.

This title is non-competitive. No examination is necessary. However, you must still meet the Minimum Qualifications of the position.
Candidates must have two years of experience in plumbing and/or steamfitting work under the supervision of a skilled tradesperson, or completion of an appropriate two-year technical school course in the plumbing and/or steamfitting trade.
An examination is not used to fill this title. You must meet the minimum qualifications of the title in order to be considered for this position. You must apply directly to the agency or agencies that have this title.
