Summary of Job Description

As a Senior Landscape Architect, you would perform the full range of professional landscape architectural activities. You may supervise lower level staff and all landscape architectural activities and projects for an assigned work group or region. You would review and approve estimates, specifications, contracts, completed work, contract changes and payments, and contractor work activities to ensure that work is completed in accordance with plans and contracts. You may also sign and stamp landscape architectural plans. You would perform site assessments; wetland mitigation designs; pedestrian facility designs; provide project management services; develop erosion and sediment control plans, storm water pollution prevention plans, and oversee training for landscape architectural activities.

Summary of Minimum Qualifications

You must have a New York State Professional Landscape Architect's License with current registration.

Notes
Continued employment as a Senior Landscape Architect is dependent upon maintaining a New York State Professional Landscape Architect's license and current registration. Failure to maintain this license with current registration will result in removal from the position.
A promotion examination is also being held for these positions. If you are eligible for appointment from a promotion list, you may not be appointed in your own agency from the list resulting from this examination open to the public.
Although promotion examinations are being held, it is expected that appointments will be made as the result of these examinations open to the public.
Appropriate part-time and volunteer experience, which can be verified, will be accepted on a prorated basis.
New York State residence is not required.
