Job Duties

Under the direction of the Chief Mapping Technologist or higher level management a Mapping Technologist 4 assists in the planning, development, implementation, and evaluation of mapping policies and procedures; manages several units that may be responsible for the compilation of mapping, digital terrain models (DTM), and analytical aerotriangulation; reviews and edits digital photogrammetric map and DTM files; contracts for the acquisition of aerial photography and stereo compilation services; directs the activities of other mapping technologists; coordinates projects and data among multiple sections; manages research and development activities; coordinates mapping activities with other Main Office and Regional groups; represents the department on external matters; manages the section’s specialized photogrammetric instruments and mapping equipment; establishes photogrammetric survey requirements; and manages IT integration.
