Job Duties

As a Public Health Representative 1, you will be responsible for conducting public health investigations and certain limited educational activities for a particular public health program within an assigned geographic area of the State.  Investigations involve frequent personal contacts with patients, patients’ families, persons who may have been exposed to infection, students and other interested groups and the establishment of working relationships with community and professional personnel.  Relevant data concerning an investigation is abstracted from personal interviews, hospital records, case histories and related source material.  This data is gathered and reports are prepared within a prescribed format and if required, supporting narrative comment on all investigative activities for epidemiologic research and control purposes.
