As a Public Health Representative 6, (PHR 6), you would function as a program manager, overseeing one or more statewide public health programs and working closely with regional managers to ensure statewide consistency and program implementation. You would be responsible for program and policy development across the state, and would coordinate programs with other agencies and partners in public health program development. Duties include managing technical assistance, service, compliance with regulations and program standards, training and prevention. You would provide direct and second-level supervision to staff. PHR 6s may also direct and participate in responding to public health emergencies including disease outbreaks.

You must take and pass a Civil Service examination in order to be considered for this position.
For qualified employees of New York State on or before the date of the examination, you must be a qualified employee of the New York State Department of Health and have had three months permanent competitive or 55-b/55-c service as a Public Health Representative 4 or Public Health Representative 5.
