Job Duties

As a Public Health Representative 3, you will be responsible for planning and organizing activities and supervise and train lower level public health representatives in the conduct of public health field investigations, personal interviews and the review of records to secure or verify factual information for research and control purposes in various public health program areas such as venereal disease control and immunizations.  They establish and maintain effective liaison with local health organizations and interested groups in support of public health programs.  A Public Health Representative 3 is characterized by overall regional responsibility for a significant public health program and the supervision of a staff of lower level public health representatives assigned to the region.

Summary of Minimum Qualifications

You must take and pass a Civil Service examination in order to be considered for this position.
On or before the date of the written test, you must be a qualified employee of the NYS Department of Health and have had three months of permanent competitive or 55-b/55-c service as a Public Health Representative 2.
