As a Child Support Specialist 2, you would supervise Child Support Specialist's who monitor local district child support performance and compliance with rules and regulations; provide technical assistance to local district child support professionals to ensure compliance with regulations, administrative directives, and program instructions; analyze new legislation impacting child support programs and work with local district child support professionals to ensure understanding and compliance; conduct program reviews of local district child support programs for efficiency and effectiveness; and compliance with federal and State performance measures and identify program areas needing performance improvement. You would also research and design policy and program guidance for local district child support professionals; develop program and policy guidance for implementation of new or changed federal or State law and regulations; and monitor contractor compliance with contract standards and deliverables. You would also maintain and monitor the statewide child support computer system.

You must take and pass a Civil Service examination in order to be considered for this position.
On or before the date of the examination, you must be a qualified employee of the New York State Office of Temporary and Disability Assistance and have had three months of permanent competitive or 55-b/55-c service as Child Support Specialist 1, Child Support Specialist Trainee 1 or Child Support Specialist Trainee 2.
