As a Temporary Assistance Specialist 2, you would supervise Temporary Assistance Specialists 1 or other subordinate staff in the maintenance, development, dissemination and evaluation of supportive programs or systems designed to increase the economic security of low-income working families and assist low-income work capable individuals in entering or re-entering the workforce. You may also monitor and provide technical assistance to local social services districts regarding federal and State program requirements and policies; coordinate interagency efforts; develop linkages with other local organizations; oversee assigned local district administration of programs; assist State and local officials in meeting program requirements or measures of efficiency and effectiveness; develop draft policies and procedures related to new and revised temporary and transitional programs; participate in training local districts and subordinate staff in program requirements; or directly administer benefit programs established to assist low-income individuals and families.

You must take and pass a Civil Service examination in order to be considered for this position.
For qualified employees of New York State:
On or before the date of the examination, the candidate must be a qualified employee of the New York State Office of Temporary and Disability Assistance and have had three months of permanent competitive or 55-b/55-c service as a Temporary Assistance Specialist 1, Temporary Assistance Specialist Trainee 1, or Temporary Assistance Specialist Trainee 2.
