Medical Asstnce Specialist 4
As a Medical Assistance Specialist 4, you would supervise multiple units, or serve as the head of a bureau, for a significant Medicaid or other public health insurance program; develop program policies and procedures and make recommendations to stakeholders; and serve as an expert to executive staff on various public health insurance program issues.

You must take and pass a Civil Service examination in order to be considered for this position.
For qualified employees of New York State on or before the date of the examination, you must be a qualified employee of the New York State Department of Health or the Office of the Medicaid Inspector General and have had three months of permanent competitive or 55-b/55-c service as follows:
Either A. as a Medical Assistance Specialist 3;
Or B. as a Business Systems Analyst 4 (Health), Eligibility Program Manager 1, Eligibility Program Manager 2, Health Program Administrator 3, Health Program Administrator 4, Medicaid Review Analyst 4 (Surveillance and Utilization Review), Pharmacy Supervisor (Health), Program Research Specialist 4 (Human Services), or Program Research Specialist 4 (Medical Assistance).
