Job Duties

Director, Financial Administration 6: responsible for developing and executing comprehensive programs of financial policy and fiscal control. Incumbents direct very large and active programs encompassing the full range of budgeting and financial management activities. Directors at this level are characterized by responsibility for programs involving extraordinarily large and complex budgets, very large and multi-faceted subordinate organizations, and operating programs that require the development and application of new approaches to the solution of fiscal problems. Incumbents participate as financial advisors in management planning, policy, and decision making and serve on management committees affecting agency policy. Directors at this level function as fiscal managers and are not primarily concerned with the technical procedures of budget preparation and fiscal planning. They work under general administrative direction from their immediate supervisors and supervise professional staff at the Assistant Director, Financial Administration 3 level or above.

Summary of Minimum Qualifications

You must take and pass a Civil Service examination to be considered for this position.

One year of permanent service in a financial management or budgeting position allocated to M-4 or higher.
