Job Duties

As a Financial Services Examiner 2, you would monitor various types of financial services activities in accordance with the statutory responsibilities of the agency; function as an advanced performance level; may supervise Financial Services Examiners 1, and lower-level staff; serve as commissioned examiner on an assignment of increased size and complexity; administer financial services examination/regulatory programs; develop examination plans; conduct financial services examinations, forensic accounting reviews, and examinations of alleged money-laundering activities as necessary; and independently handle the more difficult and complex assignments or regulatory matters.

Summary of Minimum Qualifications

On or before the date of the examination, you must be a qualified employee of the New York State Department of Financial Services and have had three months of permanent competitive or 55-b/55-c service as a Financial Services Examiner Trainee 1, Financial Services Examiner Trainee 2, Financial Services Examiner 1, Insurance Examiner, or Bank Examiner.
