Summary of Minimum Qualifications

You must take and pass a Civil Service examination in order to be considered for this position.

For qualified employees of New York State on or before the date of the examination you must be a qualified employee of the New York State Education Department and have had three months of permanent competitive or 55-b/55-c service as:

Either 1. Senior Librarian (Automation);

Or 2. Senior Librarian (regardless of parenthetic) in a position where at least 50% of your duties involved analyzing library procedures to determine the most appropriate form of automation; planning, managing and troubleshooting the installation of an automated system; and managing the automated system after installation. You must have experience with operating systems (UNIX and Windows NT/2000) and server hardware.
