Summary of Job Description

As a Temporary Assistance Specialist 3 (Refugee and Immigrant Services), you would oversee Temporary Assistance Specialists 2 (Refugee and Immigrant Services), Temporary Assistance Specialists 1 (Refugee and Immigrant Services), Community Interpretation Program Specialists and other staff in the provision of supportive services to public and private service providers, in accordance with Federal and State legislation and regulations, specific to services and benefits for refugees and immigrants or human trafficking victims. Additionally, you would monitor contracts and represent the agency in inter-and-intra-agency work groups to establish coordinated and integrated workforce, public assistance and language specific services for refugees, immigrants and human trafficking victims.

Summary of Minimum Qualifications

You must take and pass a Civil Service examination in order to be considered for this position.

On or before the date of the examination, the candidate must be a qualified employee of the New York State Office of Temporary and Disability Assistance and have had three months of permanent competitive service as a Temporary Assistance Specialist 2 (Refugee and Immigrant Services).
