Climate Policy Analysts research and analyze policy developments related to climate change, and make climate-related recommendations for actions such as legislation, regulations, funding, awareness campaigns, and policy by preparing information for media and public dissemination of information; researching and gathering information on projects; reporting on and making recommendations based on independent investigations and analyses; communicating with a variety of groups, including division and agency personnel, technical specialists in other areas and agencies, consultants, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, and members of the general public or special interest groups; independently planning, scheduling and performing work, selecting methodology, analyzing and evaluating information and developing recommended solutions to problems under general guidance of supervisor; functioning as an expert in one specific environmental area; and interacting with programs outside of the agency, as needed.
Trainees will receive a combination of structured training, on-the-job training, and/or practical job performance to gain the knowledge and experience necessary to function at the full performance level.
