Summary of Job Description

As a Coastal Resources Specialist 4, you would direct the day-to-day operation of one of the two bureaus by establishing priorities, allocating resources, developing work plans, and performing analysis of current and future program needs; set procedures for bureau activities and  resolve complex problems; coordinate the efforts of the bureau with other units and other local, State and federal agencies; conduct required public hearings on projects; direct the review and evaluation of legislation, budgets, programs and policies; initiate research of trends and developments and make recommendations; oversee program evaluations and prepare comprehensive reports required by funding agencies; interpret rules, regulations, statutes, procedures and policies; conduct special studies and supervise the preparation of informational materials; establish and maintain effective relationships with public and private interest groups and officials; and represent the Department and the Secretary of State on various interagency task forces and interstate committees.
