As a Lottery Regional Director 1, you would administer, manage, coordinate, and direct all regional activities related to the conduct and administration of New York Lottery Games. Duties include: maximizing regional sales by developing regional sales programs; recruiting, retaining, and training retailers; exercising discretion and judgment in the selection of retailers; measuring sales growth; monitoring regional sales activities; maintaining service contracts; directing and participating in local press conference in consultation with the Lottery Public Relations Officer; maintaining proper lottery security measures within the region; recommending remedial security actions; monitoring contractor performance; overseeing payment of prize claims at regional lottery offices; and providing guidance to subordinates concerning Lottery policies.

You must take and pass a Civil Service examination in order to be considered for this position.
On or before the date of the examination, the candidate must be a qualified employee of the New York State Gaming Commission and have had three months of permanent competitive or 55-b/55-c service as an Assistant Lottery Regional Director 1, Assistant Lottery Regional Director 2, Corporate Accounts Manager, Lottery Advertising Supervisor, Lottery Regional Manager 1, or Senior Lottery Marketing Specialist.
