Job Duties

As a Public Service Commission Operations Clerk 1, you would:

Oversee preparation of proposed session agenda; receive and timely process session items which include identification and assignment of item number.

Enter into a database (Document and Management System) information related to final action taken; compile items in preparation of session minutes.

Prepare all affidavits of service for orders resulting from session and review affidavits to ensure accuracy.

Process utility tariff filings, which document the pending and approved rates, charges, rules and regulations under which a utility operates.  Review each tariff page to determine whether filing criteria are correct, enter information into internal tariff and case management databases; determine office assignment; and ensure copies are distributed to appropriate individuals.

Interact with staff, the public, attorneys, and representatives of utilities.  Respond to inquiries via telephone, in person, and e-mail; research and retrieve information using databases and case files; prepare materials for mailing; process appropriate paperwork for service fees.

Process formal and informal filings that become official case records.  Analyze and determine case criteria; determine case category (industry).  Create cases in database and determine case assignment.
