Summary of Job Description

As a Public Service Commission Operations Clerk 2, you would:

Review the more complex documents, such as petitions and proposals; utility tariff filings; process hearing, session, and Siting Board transcripts received from reporting service companies; analyze requests for trade secret status and processes.

Direct work activities in the Unit by monitoring productivity levels.

Ensure that time and attendance rules are followed.

Assign and monitor work and workload.

Follow up to ensure work flows smoothly and is performed accurately, timely, and in accordance with Department policies and procedures and filing deadlines.

Evaluate staff and initiate corrective action as necessary.

Identify and coordinate training needs of subordinates.

Coordinate contracting services related to records retention streamlining.

Ensure that formal and informal filings are analyzed and entered into the database accurately and timely.

Implement records retention policies and coordinate with the State Archives for the transmission of Department filings.

Review and analyze Commission documents to identify directives, such as complex compliance issues, unconditional acceptance, and institute new proceedings.

Coordinate the rulemaking process and acting as the Commission's liaison with the Department of State (DOS).

Identify and ensure compliance with the State Administrative Procedure Act (SAPA).

Provide information to staff and the public relating to the Commission's Rules of Procedure.
