Summary of Job Description

As a Mental Health Program Specialist 3, you would supervise a unit of lower-level Mental Health Program Specialists engaged in the development, licensure, oversight, and/or regulation of State operated and/or licensed mental health programs to foster the delivery of safe, high quality, and evidenced-based services. You would provide technical assistance and guidance on programmatic issues; participate in certification surveys and onsite reviews; monitor program operations to ensure compliance with applicable laws, rules, and regulations; and work with local governments and providers to develop policies and procedures for the delivery of coordinated services and promote the integration of State and local systems of care.

Summary of Minimum Qualifications

You must take and pass a Civil Service examination in order to be considered for this position.

On or before the date of the examination, you must be a qualified employee of the New York State Office of Mental Health and have had three months of permanent competitive or 55-b/55-c service as a:

Either A. Mental Health Program Specialist 2;

Or B. Standards Compliance Analyst 2 or Standards Compliance Analyst 2 (Mental Health).
