Summary of Job Description

Under the direct supervision of the Director of the Division of the Lottery, the Director Lottery Security manages the Gaming Commissionís Lottery Security Unitís three statewide locations; evaluates and recommends training; assigns, oversees, and reviews Security investigations regarding customer complaints and alleged retailer misconduct; investigates and reports violations of Gaming Commission rules, regulations, policies, and procedures in the Lottery network; monitors and investigates retailer network for unusual ticket or terminal activity which could indicate fraud or criminal activity; briefs the Director of the Lottery on significant investigations, complaint resolutions, and misconduct referrals to the Gaming Commissionís Licensing and Legal departments for appropriate action; refers illegal gambling issues (policy wagering, internet cafes, employee misconduct) to appropriate law enforcement agencies and maintains liaisons with local, state, and federal law enforcement and regulatory agencies.

Summary of Minimum Qualifications

You must take and pass a Civil Service examination in order to be considered for this position.  

On or before the date of the examination candidates must have:

Either 1. nine years of experience as listed below,* which must include two years of supervision of subordinate staff;

Or 2. an associateís degree and seven years of experience as listed below, which must include two years of supervision of subordinate staff;

Or 3. a bachelorís degree and five years of experience as listed below,* which must include two years of supervision of subordinate staff;

Or 4. a masterís degree or juris doctorate (JD) and four years of experience as listed below,* which must include two years of supervision of subordinate staff;

Or 5. a doctor of philosophy (Ph.D.) and three years of experience as listed below,* which must include two years of supervision of subordinate staff.

*Qualifying Experience: Experience specifically in the combinable areas of criminal or civil investigations, forensics or cybercrime within a governmental or business entity with responsibility of enforcement of laws, regulations and/or rules that pertain to individuals and businesses.
