As a Motor Equipment Manager, in general, you would plan, organize and be responsible for the maintenance, administration and technical control of all department motor equipment in the geographic area under your jurisdiction. You would assign, schedule and coordinate the fleet equipment with the work program; prepare budget requests for additional equipment and replacements; and supervise the inventory and distribution of all vehicles, equipment, parts, shop tools and supplies. You would also direct the management and control of all repair shop facilities and review repair analyses and job cost estimates and the use of machinery, tools and parts. You would supervise the preventative maintenance program and direct and coordinate the training program of personnel assigned to the operation, maintenance and management of equipment.
