Job Duties

EMPLOYMENT SERVICES REPRESENTATIVE assists in conducting community and employer relations programs; conducts surveys of public and private community agencies and local training facilities to obtain data concerning programs, groups served, facilities and types of assistance they may be able to render; contacts organizations and individuals to explain DOL programs and to enlist assistance and cooperation; assists in the job development program through employer and community contacts; main­tains liaison with community representatives to inform them of progress and status of programs, to follow up on progress of joint efforts, and to resolve problems; maintains liaison with local training facility representatives to develop training proposals adapted to the needs of applicants and requirements of the local labor market; prepares occupational information for use by counseling staff; responds to inquiries from the public; pre­pares reports to assist in the evaluation of progress and problems of the community or employer relations program, and recommends methods of improvement.
