Job Duties
As a Public Safety Grants Representative 4, you would administratively supervise criminal justice and homeland security grant program development and administration; establish program goals and objectives for various funding streams and make policy recommendations to higher-level staff. You would establish protocols for the obligation of substantial grant funds in accordance with federal program objectives and internal budget requirements; develop, evaluate, and revise procedures required for internal controls; lead internal workgroups, participate in bureau training and the development of processes and procedures to streamline the accomplishment of bureau goals and objectives, and participate in inter- and intra-agency workgroups to implement agency or state initiatives. You would serve as primary liaison with other state and federal control agencies; and perform the full range of administrative supervisory duties, directly supervising Public Safety Grant Representatives 3, and lower-level professional, paraprofessional and support staff.

Summary of Minimum Qualifications

You must take and pass a Civil Service examination in order to be considered for this position.
On or before the date of the examination, you must be a qualified employee of the New York State Department of Motor Vehicles, Division of Homeland Security and Emergency Services, or Division of Criminal Justice Services and have had three months of permanent competitive, non-competitive NY HELPS*, or 55-b/55-c service as shown below. If you have received a permanent appointment to a qualifying title listed and served provisionally** in that title immediately preceding your permanent appointment, such provisional service may be counted towards meeting the time in title required for this examination.

B. Public Safety Grants Representative 2.
