Job Duties

As a Business Services Center Analyst 2, you would be responsible for overseeing a section within a Finance or Human Resources Service Line including the supervision of two to three teams led by Business Services Center Analyst 1s. Positions may report to a Business Services Center Analyst 3 within a Support Service Line function and be assigned to perform professional level work that also entails supervision of two or more Business Services Center Analyst 1s. You would also update Service Line policies and procedures; resolve the most difficult Service/Support Line related issues; analyze proposed and enacted legislation, regulations and form changes for impact on Service Line processing systems and workload; and perform the full range of supervisory duties for subordinate Business Services Center Analyst 1s.

Summary of Minimum Qualifications

You must take and a pass a Civil Service examination in order to be considered for this title.

On or before the date of examination, you must be a qualified employee of the New York State Office of General Services and have had three months of permanent competitive or 55-b/55-c service as:

Either A. Business Services Center Analyst 1, Business Services Center Analyst Trainee 1, or Business Services Center Analyst Trainee 2;

Or B. Assistant Office Services Manager, Administrative Specialist 1, Auditor 1, Business Systems Analyst 1, Contract Management Specialist 1, Head Account Clerk, Head Audit Clerk, Human Resources Specialist 1, Human Resources Specialist 1 (Labor), Human Resources Specialist 1 (Spanish Language), Internal Auditor 1, Payroll Examiner 3, Purchasing Agent, Senior Accountant, Senior Administrative Analyst, Senior Auditor, Senior Budgeting Analyst, or Training Specialist 1.

If you were permanently appointed to a qualifying title on or before February 13, 2023, and have served continuously in this title since that date, you are eligible to file for this examination.
