Job Duties
As a Food Safety Inspection Manager, under the direction of the Assistant Director of Food Safety and Inspection, you would plan, direct, coordinate and evaluate all field inspection activities. You would supervise field inspection, surveillance and investigative activities through regional chief inspectors; coordinate training for staff; manage and disseminate pertinent recall information; and act as liaison between the Department and representatives from industry, academia, and regulatory agencies nationwide.

Summary of Minimum Qualifications

You must take and pass a Civil Service examination in order to be considered for this position.
On or before the date of the examination, you must be a qualified employee of New York State and have had three months permanent competitive or 55-b/55-c service as follows: as a Food Inspector 2 or as a Food Inspector 3.
