Job Duties

As an Associate Director Training 2 (Mental Hygiene), you would manage and oversee a comprehensive education and training program for staff at a large facility, including employees in community-based programs; supervise Training Specialists (Mental Hygiene) and other training staff in developing and conducting education and training programs and in providing educational and career-related information to employees; and monitor training initiatives for compliance with mandated requirements.

You must take and pass a Civil Service examination in order to be considered for this position

On or before the date of the exam, you must be a qualified employee of the New York State Office of Mental Health or the Office for People With Developmental Disabilities and have three months of permanent competitive, non-competitive NY HELPS*, or 55-b/55-c service as:

Either A. an Associate Director Training 1 (Mental Hygiene) or Director Staff Development & Training 1;

Or B. a Training Specialist 2, Training Specialist 2 (Mental Hygiene), Agency Training & Development Specialist 2, or Mental Hygiene Staff Development Specialist 4.
