Incumbents of these positions oversee a comprehensive education and training program for facility staff, including employees in community-based programs. Supervise training staff in developing and conducting education and training programs and in providing educational and career-related information to employees. Monitor training initiatives for compliance with mandated accreditation requirements.

The Director Staff Development and Training 2 exams are used to fill this position.
To take this examination, you must be a qualified employee of the New York State Office of Mental Health or the New York State Office For People With Developmental Disabilities and have had one year of permanent competitive service as a Director Staff Development and Training 1, M-1 or two years as a Mental Hygiene Staff Development Specialist 4, G-23.
