Job Duties
As a Medicaid Integrity Specialist 3, you would perform a broad range of activities to promote Medicaid program integrity and appropriate delivery and utilization of Medicaid programs and services, and serve as a second level supervisor over multiple teams in a unit or bureau having responsibility for a significant program integrity function or portion of a larger program. Assignments are varied and often include issues with no clear precedents or established guidelines and may include overseeing a group of professional staff in various titles and/or engaged in one or more specialized functions. In a regional office, you may oversee administrative functions of the office, serve as a subject matter expert, or act as bureau director of a small bureau or assistant director of a larger bureau. Illustrative duties include, but are not limited to: perform the full range of administrative supervisory responsibilities; design and manage internal controls to reflect requirements of federal and State statutes; establish unit/bureau priorities and direction, and implement program policies, procedures, and standards; determine training needs and provide for staff training; develop program evaluation and strategies for problem resolution; develop, monitor, and report on cost avoidance measurement methodology related to compliance program reviews; interact with providers, their representatives, and other internal and external stakeholders; and respond to emergent issues and requests for information.

Summary of Minimum Qualifications

You must take and pass a Civil Service examination in order to be considered for this position.
On or before the date of the examination, you must be a qualified employee of the New York State Office of the Medicaid Inspector General and have had three months of permanent competitive, non-competitive NY HELPS*, or 55-b/55-c service as shown below. If you have received a permanent appointment to a qualifying title listed and served provisionally** in that title immediately preceding your permanent appointment, such provisional service may be counted towards meeting the time in title required for this examination.
