The State Office for the Aging (NYSOFA) assists older New Yorkers to live in the community as independently as possible for as long as possible. This is accomplished through advocacy services and the development and delivery of cost-effective programs to support and empower the elderly and their families. The Office administers federal and State funds through a network of local area agencies on aging that provide services including case management, personal care, home delivered meals, congregate meals, transportation, legal assistance, health promotion, employment and training, and support to caregivers.
